Getting Started with Latency Lab¶
Latency Lab is the mobile companion app for the NHL Live platform. It connects to your team's relay server and delivers live game events, analytics, and commands directly to your phone.
Download the App¶
Latency Lab is available on the App Store:
- App Name: Latency Lab
- Bundle ID:
com.avalanchebot.scoutrelay - Download on the App Store
The app is completely free with no in-app purchases and no ads.
Get Your Token¶
Access requires an authentication token provided by your team's administrator:
- Join your team's Discord server
- Request relay access from an admin
- Receive your token via DM
Tokens are time-limited (24 hours by default) and encode your team identity, role, and relay server address. No account creation is needed.
Enter Your Token¶
- Open Latency Lab
- Paste or type your token into the token field
- Tap Connect
The app will authenticate with your team's relay server and theme itself to match your team's branding — colors, name, and identity update automatically.
What You'll See¶
After connecting, the app has three main tabs:
- Relay — Live gesture zone for reporting events (scouts only) or viewing the real-time feed
- Feed — Scrollable feed of all game events with timestamps
- Commands — Access to slash commands (scores, stats, standings, etc.)
Roles¶
Your token determines what you can do:
| Role | Capabilities |
|---|---|
| Owner | Full access — all commands, relay toggle, system controls |
| Scout | Relay gestures, all commands, can remind owner when relay is off |
| Full Member | Live feed, commands, analytics |
| Fantasy Member | 5-second delayed feed, limited commands |
