Screenshot Sharing

Latency Lab includes a built-in sharing system that makes it easy to spread the word about live games. When you take a screenshot during a game, the app handles everything automatically.

How It Works

When you take a screenshot while connected to a live game, the app performs four steps in rapid succession:

  1. Detects the screenshot — the app notices you captured your screen
  2. Generates a share link — a unique URL is created with basic game data
  3. Copies the link to your clipboard — ready to paste into a message, tweet, or group chat
  4. Shows a notification — a brief "Link copied for sharing" message confirms the link is ready

You don't need to do anything special. Just take a screenshot the way you normally would, and the share link is automatically prepared.

Tip

After taking a screenshot, simply paste into any messaging app or social media platform. The link is already on your clipboard.

What Recipients See

When someone opens your share link, they land on a page that shows:

  • Current score for the game in progress
  • Period and game clock
  • Shots on goal for both teams
  • Team logos and branding
  • A link to download Latency Lab from the App Store

The landing page is designed to give recipients a taste of the live game experience and encourage them to get the app for themselves.

What's NOT on the Landing Page

The share link landing page intentionally shows only basic game information. The following are exclusive to app users and do not appear on the landing page:

  • Expected goals (xG)
  • Corsi and Fenwick metrics
  • Penalty minute breakdowns
  • Betting odds and lag analysis
  • Full event feed history

This keeps the most valuable analytics inside the app, giving people a reason to download and connect.

Note

Share links are a great way to grow your team's community. The landing page makes it easy for new users to see what the app offers and get started.

Share links remain active for 72 hours after creation. After that, recipients who open the link will see a simplified page with a link to download Latency Lab from the App Store.

Attribution

Screenshots include a subtle watermark that identifies the relay session. This serves two purposes:

  • Credit — the original sharer gets attribution for content they generate
  • Tracking — helps measure how content spreads organically across social platforms

The watermark is designed to be unobtrusive and does not affect the readability or usability of the screenshot.

Privacy

The watermark identifies the session, not your personal identity. It is tied to the relay connection, not to your name or contact information.
